Urban India produces about 42.0 million tons of municipal solid waste annually that is 1.15 lakh metric tons per day (TPD), out of which 83,378 TPD is generated in 423 Class-I cities.
Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) is implemented by Ministry of Urban Development, SBM emanates from the vision of the Government to ensure hygiene, proper waste management, and sanitation across the nation and aims for a Clean India under a collaborative framework of multiple stake holders. The Key objectives of Swachh Bharat Mission is to develop a modern and scientific municipal waste management system through which waste can be utilized for wealth creation.
Madhya Pradesh is a large state having status of 5th most populous state in India. M.P. has 378 urban local Bodies (ULB). 55% of State’s gross domestic product has been generated by population living in urban areas, which is 28% of states total population. As full speed commercialization is witnessed in Urban cities across India, M.P. is also experiencing the same phenomenon. To be prepared for future & achieve sustainable growth, Government of Madhya Pradesh is promoting Public Private Partnership Scheme across Urban Infrastructure development sectors.
In Smaller Urban Local Bodies (ULB’s) where waste generation is 5 to 10 Metric Ton Per Day (TPD), current waste management practices has become inefficient and financially nonviable, due to excessive cost as well as non-availability of land in smaller ULB’s. Government wants to make waste management processes to become efficient & financially viable and thus plan to establish region wise Integrated waste management facilities covering nearby ULB’s. Project involves primary and secondary collection of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) generated within Urban local bodies.
Madhya Pradesh Government is inviting private sector companies to participate in Design, Build, Finance, Operate & Transfer Integrated Municipal Solid Waste Management Projects and converting Waste to Wealth.
Your Company is a Waste Management Company based in Bhopal & working since 1998. Till 2020 Company was dealing in Industrial Waste Management only. Company has spare financial deposit of 60 Crores, which can be used for any project, additionally company also have borrowing capacity of 150 Crores through credit line from banks.
Now Company has decided to participate in "Waste To Wealth" Scheme of M.P Government for BHOPAL city.
Your company needs to create a detailed plan and proposal including marketing, finance, Human resource and IT requirements in consideration to win this project. It should include the cost of entire project and propose a self-sufficient financial model with innovation, use of modern technologies and keeping future development in mind. You are advised to consider aspects like, details of assets being created, Finance plan including government support requirements and timeline to becoming self-sufficient & Operation Plan.
It's Leaders prerogative to recognize his team's talent pool and assign task to various department heads. All the suggestions/Plans should be backed by Data and Logic.
