Suggesting and Implementation of most Optimized and Innovative ideas and solutions for Business Expansion of Ramalingam Foods

Case Understanding

• A successful fast food restaurant in South Bombay famous for its authentic freshly cooked South Asian cuisine and awesome filter coffee get its business going even at the time of emergency by implementing innovative ideas such as selling the Dosa-Idli batter and packets in the same premises. • Mr Vijay is a new generation business man and hence after taking the responsibility in the year 1900 he wanted to expand the business. But due to the wet nature of the Idli-Dosa batter, it’s less minimum shelf life and its’s perishable nature he also came up with the innovative idea to make powder form of Idli-Dosa batter. This Instant idea became a hit and allowed the Pan India expansion. • The management noticed that the Instant mixes are also a hit in Middle East, South East Asia and United Kingdom. Due to lack of foreign expansion experience hired a consultancy firm to suggest the road map and implementation of International Business Expansion for FY 2019-20 • The company needs to obtain permission and Licenses as soon as possible to implement the expansion strategy. • There is also a cash crunch scenario as well as low availability of business acumen to enter more than one region and hence they need our inputs to pick the most viable region for expansion. • The company needs proper forecasting tool to have less demand fidelity and more sales accuracy

BCS Solution Summary

The IT and Business Analysis Department will help in Analysing the data across three regions based on the Indian Diaspora’s like dislike, the ripples in the sales and fluctuation in demand. It will also analyse the social media feeds, outlier corrections and help the senior management officials and our firm to come to a conclusion for business expansion in a particular region out of the three regions it wanted to expand its business. Solution

The IT Department will have in analysing the market demand and sales fluctuation for all the three regions, share the vital input with the Senior management of both the firms so as to make a consensus agreement on the business expansion plan.

After Analysing the data, we are suggesting the business to expand in the South east Asian Region particularly in Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Philippines.

The IT will work in parallel with all the Departments to on-board all possible technological advancements and business process improvements in every phase of business expansion to achieve the milestone as planned.

1. International Business Expansion Plan

 

Unity of Direction:

• Python being a free source programming platform will allow integration of all the business customization along with the Machine Learning Forecasting Algorithms/ Models (NNAR, LSTM etc.) for predicting the demand in the near future based on social media feeds, news and the mood of the market.
• The IT Department of Nexus Solution is also planning of launching a Mobile based application which can be track every day sales and integrate it into cloud based ERP to ensure zero-inventory organization and less wastage in near future since we are dealing with low minimum shelf life products.

 

Unity of Command:

• The Department is also planning to work in collaboration with Marketing and Supply Chain Team to implement the Hadoop network for live tracking of the shipments and the market fluctuations.

Hadoop is basically a way of storing enormous data across the distributed clusters of servers and then running “distributed” analysis applications in each cluster. We are suggesting the use of HDFS (Hadoop Distribution File System) that provides high throughput access to application data.

• We are also suggesting of launching a UI/UX website in the local languages of these countries to provide the Agents, local residents and the Indian Diaspora an awesomeness of Indian Cuisine in a user friendly wrapper. We will work in with their respective governments to allow us to display our cuisines in their tourism page to woo more customers.

1. Finance Department

• The Nexus Solution is suggesting for a Cloud based Financial Management system for an automated Financial Solution Matrix within the Organization. This will basically arm the Ramalingam Foods and Finance Team with an ecosystem of connected tools to manage accounts, create financial reports, process payments and mange budgets. Since the data is online it can be access through mobiles anywhere and anytime.
• This software could handle the Purchase Orders, Invoice Approval, Expense Reimbursements and many more.
• The software is quite affordable, have automatic upgrades and Low maintenance costs, Mobile access and Integration options with ERP eliminating double entries and manual errors.

1. Human Resource Department (Degree of Centralization)

• For HR our firm is suggesting to go with the Cloud based Software the HR Cloud. This software with provide Ramalingam Foods with an edge over other competitors. It will provide the client less paperwork, Real-time and accurate performance assessments, 24/7 access to pay and benefit information, fast deployment, new approach to security, easy access to innovation and finally last but not the least predictive analysis.
• The HR cloud does not look after the payrolls but we have a solution for this too. Because of its integration flexibility with other ERPs we can work with the payrolls on the ERP database or may go with the ADP Workforce Now for payrolls.

1. Business Advisory

For Shipping solutions suggested by the Business Advisory the IT team can go for implementation of cloud based transportation Management system enabling shippers, logistics service providers and carriers to collaboratively manage the streamline the end-to-end process of transporting goods especially those working in business within the South East Asian Region.

Authority and Responsibility:

The online systems have become the new norms of doing business in the 21st century but with the data mining concept comes the concept of data security but as per experts for e.g.  Gartner study reveals that the providers are at a fault only 5 percent of the time. This can be handled by the IT security team of both Ramalingam Foods and Nexus Solutions as support during implementation. The IT Security teams will operate with a budget of  â‚¹ 2,70,000 for check on data security theft and other Business Process Improvements.

Conclusion

The IT Department of the Nexus Solution has worked parallel with all the departments to suggest and implement most optimized and innovative ideas including Social Media platform, Mobile applications, Websites, Cloud based ERP and department wise software to ensure smooth running of the Ramalingam Food Business. These cloud based platforms are cheap and affordable in comparison to the office based servers but also come with the 5 percent chance of data theft. The IT security team will work on the cloud based software licenses and their policy agreement to stop such incident of data theft to occur in future.
