BCS Solution SummaryIndia has the potential to produce nearly 750,000 megawatts of solar power according to Ministry of New and Renewable energy by 2022. To work for an energy consulting company is a great business for every individual who wants to make an active contribution towards the Mother Nature and the most rewarding satisfaction you get, when you know you do for the betterment of the world. As per business terms SELCO India is our client and we should provide them business to expand further. Thanks to Mr.Hunde for his outstanding contribution and his every single efforts has blessed many poor families in the rural parts of our country. “BUSINESS BECOME MORE EXCITING WHEN IT HAS A FLAVOUR FOR A SOCIAL CAUSE TOO†The major role for any consulting firm is to generate skilled leads, generate good funds and expand more business. As the head of department of HR I feel human resource management is an important part of successful business.HR today are given a major role which leads towards achieving the goal of an organization. This has enabled HR to gain a shift from traditional role to more strategic one.
Solution
STRATEGIES /PLANNING BASED ON FOLLOWING:
1. PRODUCT LINE EXPANSION: the main motto of SELCO India is to expand more and more solar power in rural areas. Product line expansion mainly deals with existing product made by SELCO India, modification of the product and completely new product launched.
Role of HR in product line expansion: The role of HR here is to hire a skilled Product manager who is expertise in the manufacturing unit of these solar products.
These skilled employee can further use their knowledge and give trainings to people in villages who are interested to join manufacturing unit and start producing more and more products on similar line and functions. This will also help rural people to learn something which is purely technical and don’t require much demand of English language.
This further will create more job opportunities in rural areas in renewable energy sector and rural people will become more aware about the solar products and its use.
Also the manufacturing of SELCO india is time consuming . hence when we are expanding we need to keep highly efficient skilled workers who can reduce on time .
Take an example of an Indian farmers who run the grid with help of tube wells. But solar energy will help generate power to grid.
Farmers are backbone for Indian economy and HR should appreciate the work done by non-skilled workers and regular monitor of their work can be assessed hiring a supervisor at that place.
This will give profit to both consulting and the regulatory board without much cost keeping a balanced resource.
2. SALES NETWORK EXPANSION:
When it comes to sales network expansion the strategies need to be build keeping in mind that SELCO india is a rural based organization.
Sales promotion activities needs to expand .There should be programmers conducted to aware people and give them adequate training. Solar is still a new topic for most consumers, so there are a lot of questions they’ll want answered before they make a decision.
Role of HR in sales network expansion:
Human resource should keep those critical resources who can communicate well with rural people .
There should be a combination of highly skilled people and other locals to make strategies. Rural people will be more likely to get attracted with local employees .
These companies can directly tie with government and give these products as subsidies.
There should be very minimal cost for these products as many can afford it.Hence to increase the profit , the sales should be increased.
Hr can help build many different marketing representatives who can turn visitors into customers.
Say for example there are temples in rural areas where people gather in plenty. These representatives can turn these visitors into customers by directly selling the prodcuts.
Reach new audience by social promotion in villages by containing different campaign. Social media is also an excellent venue for connecting with customers. Studies show that people are more likely to trust a product or company when they see social proof—in other words, if they see that others like and respect something.
In many parts of Karnataka government has started an EMI option available to these rural people to buy these products. This will give a slight relief to poor people in terms of budget release .
3. Energy service Centre expansion :
to grow more into business requires the set up of the service centres too. Different setups are required in this sector where more and more manufacturing can be done .It would be better if these setups are based in many rural areas as it will financially feasible in terms of cost budget.
The HR policies in energy service expansion includes training as primary goal.Training and development helps in the organization to develop their information methods in a systematic way to perform all the activities in the solar industries. The second most important part of Human resource is “TALENT MANAGEMENT”.It helps talented employees to develop skills and knowledge and develop effective plan to manage these employees.
Since the entire set up requires involvement of rural people HR can help arrange many communication techniques such as group discussion, presentations,visits,guided tours ,off site training sessions.
These will help them to involve with more customers and socialize with each other and build relationship.
